A Guide to Hidden Abilities

Hidden abilities are a new mechanic introduced in the latest update. While their acquisition and upgrade methods may not be immediately obvious this guide aims to provide a clear understanding of how to obtain and enhance hidden abilities.

What are Hidden Abilities
Hidden abilities are passive abilities that do not occupy inventory slots. They cannot be bought or sold and once acquired they cannot be lost. Like normal abilities, hidden abilities have levels. Despite their acquisition method, most hidden abilities benefit any build. There is no limit to the number of hidden abilities a player can have which encourages the creation of larger and more diverse decks.

How to Obtain and Upgrade Hidden Abilities:
To obtain hidden abilities players must have three unique abilities with the same tag in their inventory simultaneously. It is important to note that the abilities do not need to be in the active slots to grant the hidden ability. To upgrade hidden abilities players need three unique level 2 abilities of the same tag for level 2 of the hidden ability and three unique level 3 abilities of the same tag for level 3 of the hidden ability. The only exception is the electric tag which only requires two abilities.

Benefits and Effects of Hidden Abilities:
Hidden abilities provide permanent passive effects. As long as there is synergy among the abilities players will naturally acquire one or two hidden abilities during gameplay. Each hidden ability has unique effects which are listed below. These effects often impact all abilities or provide special effects. The descriptions provided are for the level 3 version of the ability.

• 1. Dual Wielding (Targeted): Targeted abilities fire projectiles in four different directions.
• 2. Efficient Economy (Finance): Gain three additional tokens per shop.
• 3. Evasion (Random): 30% chance to dodge.
• 4. Penetration (Shot, different from the penetration ability): Abilities pierce through three more targets.
• 5. Armor (Shotgun): Reduces incoming damage by 6.
• 6. Melee (AoE): Deals more damage to enemies the closer they are, up to a 100% bonus damage.
• 7. Berserker Mode (Darkness, unsure due to broken tooltip): When the slime has less than 20% health it moves 50% faster and deals 50% more damage.
• 8. Bonus Health (Food): Increases maximum health by 1200.
• 9. Flammable Concoction (Fire): Abilities ignite enemies and deal 20 damage per second.
• 10. Power of Observation (Homing): The slime gains an additional 15% experience.
• 11. Fragility (Ice): After damage is dealt to an enemy, that enemy takes 30% more damage. This effect does not stack.
• 12. Time Warp (Satellite): Reduces the cooldown of all abilities by 30%.
• 13. Soul Eating (Boomerang): The slime restores 3 health for each enemy killed.
• 14. Damage Reflect (Electric, only two electric abilities needed): Enemies dealing damage to the slime take 200% of that damage reflected back to them.
• 15. Bonus Bonus (Passive): Increases bonus drop rate by 60%.
• 16. Critical Strike (Summoning): The slime and its minions have a 25% chance to deal 400% more damage.

Other Relevant Information:
Achieving level 3 for each hidden ability will unlock a hidden achievement. To the best of my knowledge, these achievements encompass all hidden abilities.

It is worth noting that the "knockback" tag which is exclusive to the "blast wave" S tier ability, currently does not have a hidden ability. As of now this is the only tag without a hidden ability.
